Journal Entry #1

I believe luxury fashion should operate like a great band that is slightly underground. The act of discovery gets you interested and you want to educate yourself about it. Then you want to buy into the entire world through merch and music. They buy in is where it comes to life for me. You realize there is an intimacy involved in what you have found. You are nearly seduced by the idea you and a select few know about this, and you protect it. You share it sparingly, you throw it on the aux hoping people ask you, “who is this?” The who is this, is what I hope to do here. “Where did you get that bag?” Or, “how much was it?” And things feel fair. Good design should feel fair. That’s how I feel when I get a new iPhone. With what it can do, I do feel that it is fairly valued. All in all, the intimacy, seduction, sensuality, and campy/playfulness of life is what gets me going…don’t forget hospitality of course.
